Mike, have you heard about the activity in reeves county? we’re around toyah, and its hopping hot.  we’ve gotten some offers. we’ve been patient, and the offers have gone up.

Late update: With a renewed interest in Reeves County I was contacted on the 160 acre tract and signed a lease with Concho Resources. On another tract in Reeves County, Chesapeake farmed it out before the lease expired and Eagle Oil and Gas has drilled and is producing from the Bone Springs formation.

I have 960 acres near Verhalen that was leased with Chesapeake. They farmed it out 6 months before the lease was to expire and the new company has drilled one well (April 2010).
Chesapeake has done a lot of farm outs in Reeves County.

James thanks for the help. All I own are the mineral rights so the $80 an acre for five years of exploration with $100 per acre 3 year auction. I think there are at 14% royalty. The surface is owned by another individual. I think I will speak with a lawyer, your input is appreciated.

allen, We just signed our lease aggreement for 500.00 an acre plus 3/16 royalty .If you own mineral rights in this area i would recomend you get an attorney or do some serious homework before you sign anything.
